Meet Dawn

Dawn Barie, is a licensed clinical social work (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience. She uses an integrative approach by drawing upon various evidence-based techniques. Dawn helps open up possibilities, new meanings, and ideas so that her clients can find their way forward during difficult times.

She helps adults with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues by providing therapies for mood disorders, traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, abuse recovery, childhood trauma, relationship issues, and help in overcoming the negative effects of distressing life events and more.

She works collaboratively with clients to identify their key concerns and goals they want to achieve. Dawn supports her clients in creating a life where they thrive while having a better ability to adapt, and cope with unique challenges. Dawn wants to help her clients better understand and express emotions to improve self-esteem and the quality of life.

Dawn’s career experience includes working in a variety of clinical outpatient settings. She has experience with adults, children, and their families. She obtained a Masters of Social Work in 2003, and then completed her 3-year clinical training at an outpatient psychiatry clinic of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York City.

Dawn received specialized training in the application of mindfulness in psychotherapy, with Ronald Siegel, PsyD and Dan Siegel, MD. She completed a mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy (MBCT) training course with a co-founder of this technique, Zindel Segal, PhD. She also received training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Steven Hayes, PhD. Dawn completed her EMDR training through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) in 2018.

Dawn is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in New York (Lic # 090383) and Pennsylvania (Lic #CW018132). She is able to provide online psychotherapy for clients residing in these states.
